The struggle that we face today is that the diet and weight loss products on the market do not address the real problem behind why we overeat. Instead they are focus on the symptoms. Most weight loss products focus on the type of food one is supposed to eat, or the amount of food. The focus on why the compulsion to overeat in the first place is not even addressed.
Overeating is more than just simply eating too much. Anybody who has tried to follow a diet plan knows this. Because after a short period of time of following the diet plan, “willpower” finally loses strength and we find ourselves going back to our old habits of eating. If it were simply a matter of changing the foods you eat, that would be easy. But it is not that easy, and the reason is because there is more to it.
In order to make real change you must become aware of why, how, when and for what purposes your body uses food. You must become aware of what’s really going on before you to change it.
I know that this may sound kind of confusing. It is often hard to grasp this concept if you are not aware that it is even there. On some level you will have to trust that there are others stimulators that are triggering you to overeat. And that these outside stimulators have nothing to do with food. They have to do with your emotions, your environment, and the way your body is trained to respond each of these.
